Advice from Google
Google is by far the largest and most popular search engine. It is imperitive that your website comes uphighly for its chosen keywords on Google if the site is to have any reach. There are hundreds of so called SEO (search engine optimisation) experts who promise they can get you top ranking on Google for a nominal fee. This is, at best an overexageration, at worst it may be a scam.
Although there are numerous ways in which you can optimise your site for better search engine rankings, it is not a quick fix process, you need to build up your site's reputation online over time, by gaining appropriate links from other websites. Most web design firms will build your site with the search engines in mind. Here at AppleCraft we put alot of thought inot how the search engines will percieve the sites we build, all our sites ae built using SEO principles, this service is part of our fee, as it should be, be wary of companies that offer SEO as a seperate process from the main development process. Google have spent alot of time and effort to combat SEO spammers, and they come down hard on any site they consider to be in contrivention of their policies, this is what they have to say on the subject:http://www.google.com/webmasters/seo.html
We want you to understand the processes we do here at AppleCraft, so we'll give you an insight into the processes we go through to submit your site to the search engines. It's pretty straight forward so again, dont be fooled into paying fees for search engine submission! http://www.google.com/webmasters/
